Xan graduates from high school this evening, and then off to Earlham. Congratulations, kid! You're on your way to do great things.

Dean wnd wife Wei live in Dallas. Wei is doing medical research there and although Dean is based there, he does a lot of his consulting stuff in Shanghai and Beijing.

Xan is completing her senior year in high school. Last summer, she visited us in Oregon and checked some north-west schools.

She has switched to oboe and plays in the Kansas Youth Symphony. Her School Marching Band came to Forida for some Chrismas week festivities in Orland so we got to see her again. Akiho Kawakami, an exchange student from Aichi, Japan, staying with Xan and Caroline, came to visit us and participate in the fun.

Nate came to Oregon right after school was out last summer and stayed well into July. We went to a couple book signings at Powell's with Salman Rushdie and Jeremy Scahill. We all went to the coast with Xan to see Shanghied in Astoria. Nate and Wei spent Christmas with Dean in China.

Glen is teaching at Seikei University in Tokyo. Shino has finished nursing school and is doing well.

Hajime (Huck) is doing well in high school, plays trumpet and is still quite active in Venture Scouting. He went to Australia this summer. Mamo (Al) is now playing tuba in the school band. He is still our laid-back guy, into snakes and regularly shows up in Kodaira 1 photo galleries.
