I liked all the info. Most of it I'm already doing as I have been chairing dinner for 6 years. Liked ideas for decorating towards end of page, and we've never considered entertainment, until I read some of your suggestions. I may try to get a male acopella singing group from Binghamton University. Something we do every year is to have a cake auction, cake made by scout and a parent. We auction them off for $5-$50. I also stipulate for the den that brings dessert, "no cakes."

Many Pack Den Leaders use the free Excel Cub Scout Achievement Trackers that I developed and maintain. A lot of websites carry the trackers but have very old and outdated versions. So I have developed my own web page that will always carry the most recent versions (with all known bugs fixed and many enhancements recommended by users). I have just revised all the Cub Scout spreadsheets to include the new Outdoor Activity Award that was launched in late August 2004! I have also made changes to the formatting of all of the files to make them easier to work with in OpenOffice for users that don't have Excel. I have also enhanced the Tiger tracker to track beads and expanded the file to handle up to 15 tigers. Would you please add a link to my site on your great roundtable site? Thanks! I really like your site. It gave me a couple great ideas to help me get some more parents involved in our pack. Our parent participation is extremely poor. I would appreciate any other ideas you may have. Thanks.
Getting parents involved in Cub Scouting takes:
1. Commitment by the entire pack leadership.
2. Patience. It doesn't happen overnight.
3. Consistent pressure and support starting from the moment a boy joins.

Stated Cubbing in '71 with oldest son, got out in'81 when youngest son got out and back in again since '94 with grandson. Really enjoy putting on monthly round tables for the cubbers in our district, and enjoy learning and getting new ideas for them. Have found that the new leaders really like the simple crafts that the boys can do in a short time and crafts that the boys can make and eat. Really looking forward to some of your idea's and if you think I might have some for you, let me know! Yours in Cubbing, Betty

I'm still new to scouting, so can't help you on the improving part, because everything looks great! I'd be lost without you, and keep up the good work. I particularly like your friendly manner of writing though. It's not like I'm reading a boring textbook. It's more like someone is talking to me first hand.
Thanks for being here.

I really enjoy your Roundtables. I use them every month, make copies and use the crafts and all the rest in putting on my Roundtables. Our District is really spread out and to get the information out to everyone, we have two roundtables a month. So you really save me a lot of time. Since I'm still working, I don't have the time to do a lot or researching. Just know that what you do and the time you spend is much appricated. Happy Scouting, Betty
