Interested in getting my 8 y.o. grandson in Scouts. Bailey is very bright, athletic, and a natural mentor to others. My husband was an Eagle Scout, and his father was in one of the original troops formed in New York in the '30's. I think Bailey would benefit greatly from the Scouting experience. He is particularly interested in overnight camping and animals and what better place than Washington and Oregon?

Hiya Guys! I'm not part of a scout platoon, im a sea cadet and i stumbled across this site by accident because i was looking for recreational training games that i can use in the sea cadet corps as part of my physical training qualifications. The site i went on had a huge table full of names of different games, however the links didn't open so i couldnt access the instructions for them. i have written my email address above, and i would be really grateful if anyone could help me access these games as i am going to a HMS temeraire a navy base next week and i get assessed on instructing an RT games, however i would like to use an original one. My little brother and my older brother were both cubs, you guys are cool. but when you've grown out of cubs, you should come 2 sea cadets because were for slightly older youths (12-18 year olds). Anyways nice site! visit ours some time.

I was trying to fid someone in one of the Santa Clara Council Cub Scout Packs. As I was going through the various Pack websites. Pack 390, San Jose, recommended stopping by your site. I have covered a few committee postions and am currently setting up our school night. I thoroughly enjoyed a few of the "reality checks" you have written in the recruiting area! Especially, about borrowing keys and trusting someone to take their child.
I borrowed the Car Keys Story from Sean Scott, that exceptional Scouter in San Diego who, amongst other heroic deeds, monitors Cub-Scout-Talk.

I wonder if you could email me and tell me how big your Pack is - how many boys? Ours is quite large and there is talk of splitting it up. We really don't want to do that. Your Pack meeting ideas are great - maybe we can do it for our large Pack if we get more organized. Thanks, Claire Parker
You shouldn't split a pack unless you have a really good reason to do it. Like running out or some important resource such as room to hold games or time for ceremonies. Sounds like a good item for Pack Administration.

Outstanding website. I check it often. There are a few broken links that appear to have a redundant /rt in the address (wtsmith.com/rt/rt/...). When I have encountered a broken link, it usually involves an extra "/rt".
Thanks for the tip. I have more than three thousand links so it's big job to check them regularly. I really appreciate learning where there are boken ones.
