COMMENTS: Just looking for a Cub Pack for my 7 3/4 Yr old, 2nd grader grandson. One that is active in teaching young boys in a positive way. In the Chandler area. Thank you for putting all the information together and putting on the WEB. You must be or have been a very active scout leader.
Anyone can find nearby packs or troops by going to the National BSA site and entering their zip code. This sometimes misses a few that have different zip codes enven though they are close by.

COMMENTS: Bill- Here's a game that worked great during a recent family campout. -Dan

Scrubbie Ball

Need to have 15-20 synthetic plastic scrubbing pads/balls (the more the merrier). ( I think I purchased a bag of ten for $2 each at the Dollar Store)
Divide boys into two teams. Identify a square or rectangular area with center line. Each team lines up on the back line of the area and then races to pick up the scrubbies positioned along the center line. Boys throw the scrubbies at the opposing team. If it's caught, they're out. If it hits someone, the Scout that was hit is out.
The scrubbies are small enough to handle and light enough that even if a boy throws with all his might, it won't hurt!
Thanks, Dan. This sounds like a fun game especially for a large den. I suppose it could also work on a campout.

COMMENTS: Your website is incredible!! I have tried working on ours but it seems there is never enough time ot include that as well even if it is for 30 minutes. If it is OK with you, I would like to put a link from our website to yours. This would help leaders and parents alike in our Pack. You obviously have put in a lot of work and I just want to say that I hope you don't get rid of it as I have another son that needs to go thru the whole program as well! Tim Martin
I have no problems with any Scouting web site having links to my sites.

COMMENTS: Great web-site. I was searching for ideas for games and stumbled across yours. I have been inspired by some of your experiences. Scouts in the UK are aged between 10 yrs 6mths and 14 yrs 6 mths. Many of your activities can be adapted for this age group - though camping in the UK we don't have to worry about bears!

COMMENTS: What a great discovery I have made in this website and much wisdom to appreciate. I started off looking on the web for cods of conduct for cubs in the cub hall and been reading for over an hour at the other gems on the web. In the words of Arnie.. I'll be back Thamks for the inspiration Nikki Ardill
Good to hear from a Scouter in the Belfast neighborhood. Normally I would add a flag from that part of the UK but I ran into a bewildering choice of flags, and prudently decided that the Irish Scouting logo better represented Nikki than any flag that I would pick.

I am not familiar with any test for den leaders. I suppose that if the boys and parents believe that Cub Scouting is fun and they are all doing their best then you have passed the most critical test there is.
The boys may be too busy to think of this, so, on their behalf, thanks for being their den leaders.

COMMENTS: Bill, I spent many years as a Scout... Cub, Boy, Explorer... I'm 61 yrs old with a 7 year old son (only child). The Church school's Cubmaster moved on to Boy Scouts with his son and the Pack's Charter lapsed... my son wasn't going to get to be a Scout, so I volunteered. I'm the new Cubmaster...the Charter is renewed...I have 27 little 1st and 2nd Graders who LOVE it! I just found your site and it's literally a GODSEND! Thank you. God bless you for your efforts.
